Literature Text

Luck is nothing,
Action is everything.
It wasn’t luck that kept me
In the hands of an unconcerned lover.
It was insecurity and adolescent dreams
That made me stay
After trust was thrown away.
This is not a disgrace to me,
People’s actions only reflect on themselves,
What you do after that
Is on you.

Luck never made my decisions,
My experiences sway me more.
If I were to forget them
I would only repeat the mistakes
That I’ve made before.
Things that some would call shitty luck
And then go on to hate
Are the things that make me strong today.
This is a poem that was inspired my another dA user's poem that I wrote as part of #PoeticalCondition's Gigantic Generosity Giveaway. Check out that contest here: poeticalcondition.deviantart.c…
To get the full experience and angle of this poem, you should really go read the original poem. It is titled Luck, written by Eo-wyn. Here's a link to that poem: poeticalcondition.deviantart.c… Show them your support!
